November in the Studio: Here’s What’s Happened This Month

As the year begins to wind down, November always seems to speed up, and this month has been no exception! From exciting project progress to speaking engagements, new clients, and even a big win for our daughter’s cheer team, life has been beautifully hectic. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to this month:

1.Progress at Our Bristow Rd. Remodel

We’ve been hard at work transforming the Bristow project’s dated and dysfunctional kitchen into a stunning, modern space that works for the family’s lifestyle. One of the key changes we made was closing off an unnecessary second door to the guest room, which allowed us to utilize that wall to completely reconfigure the kitchen layout.

The result? A kitchen that’s as functional as it is beautiful, with bright new lighting, modern materials, a gorgeous backsplash, and a peninsula that now allows for more traffic flow in the once cramped kitchen. We also installed new doors and windows, adding a fresh touch that enhances the entire space. It hasn’t been without its challenges—renovating an older home always has its surprises—but the transformation has been worth it.

We’ll share all the details and before-and-after photos in a dedicated post about the Bristow project soon, so stay tuned!

2. Speaking Engagements

This month brought some incredible opportunities to connect with and inspire others.

First, I had the honor of speaking at the WKU Innovation Campus for the Women’s Business Center of Kentucky ,Strong Women, Strong Coffee event. It was a powerful moment to share the challenges and rewards of starting a business and how community support has been instrumental in my journey. Hearing other women’s stories of struggles and triumphs was truly touching, and I left the event feeling so inspired.

Later that week, I joined a panel for the BG Area Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership BG 2025 Class. We discussed small business ownership, the importance of starting with the end in mind (a philosophy I apply to both business and design), and the many hats entrepreneurs wear. It was an incredible experience to connect with other business leaders and share insights from my own journey.

3. New Clients & Future Projects

November is a big planning month, and we’ve had the pleasure of meeting several new clients as we begin prepping for their 2025 projects.

  • Fairview Farm Kitchen Remodel:

We finalized a kitchen plan for the new year, a process that typically takes us 3-4 months to perfect. This is our Fairview Farm Kitchen Remodel which we will dedicate an entire post to soon.

  • Chestnut Hill Whole Home Renovation:

We began conceptualizing designs for the Chestnut Hill renovation, an 8,000-square-foot home built in 1979 that’s ready for a major facelift.

  • Pink Lily HQ Furnishing Project

- We’re also deep into furniture orders and design for a fresh, modern office space at Pink Lily’s headquarters on Nashville’s iconic Music Row.

The groundwork we’re laying now ensures a smooth start to 2025, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead! We have already begun work on a New Construction breaking ground this month, we have signed several bathroom and kitchen remodels for 2025, a few decorating projects and some other renovations and Commercial projects in the works! Not to mention, we are nearing the end of several projects that we will be photographing and sharing soon!

4. Family Life & Personal Wins

On the personal side, November has been a whirlwind of family moments and milestones.

- We celebrated our son’s 6th birthday

- Our daughter’s competitive cheer season kicked off in full force with two competitions, including a 1st place win and a bid to postseason Summit in New Orleans. -We’ve spent some time with the kids at school parties for the Holidays

-In this busy season, I’ve been trying to find time to prioritize self care, healthy eating and simpler evenings with kids activities so a lot of meal prep happening here on the weekends.

-I’ve also hired a security team for the studio if you see some new additions… Meet Captain Jack Sparrow, Chief Security Officer and Sir Simon Says, Second in Command.

While life feels a little hectic juggling everything, we’re so grateful for these moments and the opportunities to make memories together and to have so many clients to keep us more than busy!

5. Looking Ahead

As November comes to a close, we’re reflecting on how grateful we are for the busy season and the amazing people we get to work with. Between wrapping up current projects, planning for 2025, and managing our bustling family life, we feel incredibly blessed.

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of our journey this year. Whether you’re a client, a colleague, or a supporter from afar, your encouragement and trust mean the world to us.

Here’s to finishing the year strong and stepping into an exciting new chapter in 2025!
